Axilum TMS Robot
The First Robot Designed to Assist with TMS Coil Positioning
The Axilum Robotics TMS-Robot is the first robot created specifically to help health care professionals position a TMS coil accurately.
Automated and Precise Coil Guidance with Syneika One
Guided by the Syneika One neuronavigator, the robot automates the TMS session.
It positions the coil precisely over the stimulation target.
In addition, it maintains contact with the patient's head and compensates for any possible movements — ensuring stable and reliable stimulation throughout the session.
-
Large Stimulation Workspace
Thanks to its original, patented hemispherical design, the robotic arm offers wide access to all TMS stimulation areas.
This architecture makes positioning flexible and efficient, regardless of the target. -
Accuracy and Repeatability
The TMS-Robot includes 9 high-precision position sensors.
These sensors allow the system to measure and replicate any desired coil position with respect to the patient’s anatomy — ensuring both accuracy and consistency. -
Real-Time Movement Compensation
To ensure reliable stimulation, Syneika One monitors the coil’s position and orientation in real time.
As a result, the robot automatically compensates for any head movement during the TMS session.
-
Safety First: Mechanical and Software Protections
Each joint of the robotic arm is equipped with mechanical hard stops, limiting its movement range.
Thanks to the hemispherical architecture, the coil cannot move in a straight line across the head.
Instead, it always moves around the hemisphere, reducing the risk of accidental contact. In addition, the robot’s embedded software continuously limits the force applied by the coil in real time.
This ensures a safe and comfortable experience for the patient throughout the session.
Regulations in the European Union
The Axilum Robotics TMS-Robot is manufactured by Axilum Robotics.
It is intended for medical or scientific investigation purposes, specifically to automate the positioning of a TMS coil.
Please read the user manual carefully before any use.
Note that this device is not CE marked as a medical device in the EU.
Regulations in the USA
In the United States, federal law regulates the sale of medical devices through the FDA (Food and Drug Administration).
This ensures safety and effectiveness.
To be marketed, a device must have 510(k) clearance or PMA approval.
Axilum Robotics TMS-Robot is not FDA cleared.
Therefore, its use for TMS or rTMS coil positioning is considered investigational in the USA.
